A live videopoem by TANYA EVANSON

Bothism is two things: a short film by Tanya Evanson and her first poetry collection of the same name. The film was created to accompany the experimental Sufi text published by Ekstasis Editions in 2017. Together they form one live videopoem performance of spoken word, sound and visuals.

In this performance, the artist is both absent and present. A meditation occurs on
sorrow and joy, day and night, content and form, dot and circle, the threshold between worlds--the way to unity through listening.

This live videopoem has been presented at festivals across Canada including The Banff Centre Spoken Word Residency (Banff AB), VerseFest (Ottawa ON), Words Aloud (Durham ON), Obey Convention (Halifax NS), Suoni per il Popolo (Montreal QC) and Festival du Texte Court (Sherbooke QC).
